Oh my god... I am so moved by this post. You know when I was 22 I was at the Monster Bar on Sheridan Square in NYC and some drunk queen sidled up to me and said, "Bring the Merman to the new generation kid".... AND I DID. And even though this boy is doing Patti Lupone, it is in the same spirit and tradition of my generation.
Sure, Lupone pales in comparison to the Merm, but what this boy has done is in that same great spirit of making sure that SHOW TUNES NEVER DIE. Bless you, bananabasket. I may need to do a youtube response ala Ethel Merman.
(so moved, tears, mmmmmmm.....)
Aww I know, right? This boy is totally bringing it old school gay, and I love it. Showtunes forever! We were belting LuPone with him last night at a party here in Ann Arbor. Loves it.
And your Merman ain't got nothing on his LuPone, Chris ;)

Darling-- you're a little young to appreciate the depths of my Merman, with all due respect!! ;-) . I think we should have a Gypsyathon-- he can do Lupone, I'll do Merman. And then we'll have a fancy brunch.
